Our programme

Our mission is to build community through creativity. Our programme brings together artists, communities, schools and partners. We explore ideas, tell stories and create meaningful experiences. These reflect the people and places of Richmond upon Thames, London and beyond.

Our work is rooted in collaboration, participation and creative exploration. Richmond’s ambition for a greener, fairer and safer borough guides our work. We work with communities to shape projects, and we ensure that a wide range of voices, experiences and perspectives are represented in our programme.

We deliver our programme through key projects:

Cultural Reforesting explores the relationship between people, place and the environment. We use creativity to inspire new ways of caring for and connecting with the natural world.

Play & Imagine celebrates curiosity, creativity and imagination. We create exhibitions, events and participatory projects for people of all ages.

Our schools and community engagement programme works with young people, educators and community organisations. We make inclusive opportunities for learning, creativity and taking part in arts and culture.

Artists are at the heart of everything we do. We commission, support and collaborate with artists. We offer residencies, research opportunities, exhibitions and public projects. We make space to test and develop new ideas.

We are committed to supporting emerging artists. We want to nurture a vibrant artistic community where learning, exchange and collaboration can flourish.

Together, these programmes make our gallery a place where people can connect, create and imagine new possibilities. We do this through art, with others, and for the future.
