Times
The gallery is open from 10am–5pm (last entry at 4.45pm) Tuesday–Sunday.
We are closed on Mondays, except for Bank Holiday Mondays.
The Stables Café is open 9am–4pm daily (the kitchen is open 10am–3pm). Visit the The Stables Café website to find out more.
The Octagon Room is sometimes closed for private events. If you would like to view the room, please get in touch before your visit to ensure it is open.
High Tide
Due to our location beside the River Thames, exceptionally high tides can occasionally cause flooding on the riverside road and affect access to Orleans House Gallery. We monitor tide times regularly and will notify visitors if access is likely to be disrupted.
When flooding occurs, the Riverside Gallery entrance and vehicle access may be limited. Visitors can use the Woodland Entrance via Orleans Road as an alternative route. The images below show how different tide levels can affect access to the site.
Normal or moderately high tides: may leave the Riverside area fully accessible
Higher tides: can cause flooding on the riverside road near the gallery, limiting access to the Riverside Gallery entrance.Flooding can also affect vehicle access to the main driveway
Very high tides: may make the riverside route inaccessible for a short period
When riverside access is affected, visitors can still reach the gallery via Orleans Road and enter through our Woodland Entrance
The impact of each high tide can vary. Some high tides may cause little or no disruption, while others may temporarily affect access routes
We monitor conditions closely and will provide updates when necessary
