Long Table: Sculpting Life

Four people collaborate around a table with notes and markers during a group discussion

3:00 pm – 5:30 pm

Orleans House Gallery

Join us for an open and thought-provoking conversation within the Ronald Moody: Sculpting Life exhibition.

Through the Long Table format, we will create a space for open conversation and shared reflection, exploring themes of identity, belonging, inclusion and representation. Drawing on Ronald Moody’s work, we will consider how these ideas connect to experiences of migration, spirituality, anti-racism, community, home and place.

Created by acclaimed artist and academic Lois Weaver, the Long Table is an imaginative public forum that brings together performance, discussion, installation and social gathering. Described as “a performance of a dinner party where conversation is the only course,” it creates a welcoming space where everyone is invited to share ideas, experiences and perspectives.

There is no audience and no panel, just an open, evolving discussion. Pull up a chair, contribute to the conversation, or simply listen and reflect. You can join and leave at any point.

The discussion will be facilitated by Robert Lee, an experienced cultural leader and diversity specialist who has spent more than 40 years championing artists, engaging audiences and creating opportunities for communities to connect through the arts.

No booking required. Drop in at any time between 3pm and 5.30pm to take part, listen, share your thoughts or simply experience the conversation as it unfolds.
