South African ‘Iklwa’ stabbing spear belonging to Sir Richard Burton. Iron spearhead with no visable foreshaft, tanged into a wooden shaft and binding covered in a skin sleeve. Made and used by Nguni nations inhabiting KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape Provinces of South Africa.
