Art House Open Studios to Return for 2023

Local charity Arts Richmond has been commissioned by Richmond Arts Service to coordinate the borough’s open studios festival, Art House, for 2023.

Art House is a chance for local artists, craftspeople, and community groups to open their homes, studios and group venues to showcase their talents to members of the public.

Individual artists, artist groups and local arts organisations will be displaying a fantastic range of artworks for two weekends this summer: Saturday 15 and Sunday 16, plus Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 July.

Group exhibitions featuring borough artists will also take place at three locations across the borough between 14 and 24 July.

Catherine Sweet, Arts Richmond Chair of Visual Arts, says: “I am delighted that Arts Richmond will be coordinating Art House this year. The festival is a wonderful opportunity for people to visit creative spaces, connecting with artists themselves and hearing how their work evolves. It’s a vital chance for artists to meet new audiences, sell their work and build their creative networks, and one we are keen to ensure is sustainable for many years to come.”

Arts Richmond is an independent charity supporting the arts and culture across Richmond. Connected with over 100 locally affiliated societies, the charity is well positioned to coordinate the artists, groups and venues which come together to create Art House, and to foster new opportunities for local creatives.

Tim Corum, Head of Richmond Arts Service, says: Richmond Arts Service acknowledges and appreciates just how important Art House Open Studios is to our local artists, creatives and audiences, and the benefits that such initiatives contribute to the borough’s arts ecology. The Arts Service will continue to engage with Art House as an important part of Richmond borough’s visual art scene.
