Black History Month
Black History Month is a month of events in October which celebrate the culture, history and achievement of Britain’s African and Caribbean communities. In October 2020 Richmond Arts Service will be celebrating artists who have worked with us in the past, as well as profiling local artists who will share their work, influences and aspirations in our digital spaces.
This is a celebration but at the same time we acknowledge that our past programme and art collection have not been as diverse as they could and should have been. We aim to correct this by launching a collaborative process this October to develop a more diverse programme of performances and exhibitions in the coming years that reflect the most exciting art being made today. We will also develop the collection so it reflects this diverse, dynamic and creative programme.
We’ll be sharing more about this in the coming weeks and months and if you’d like to be involved please contact the team at artsinfo@richmondandwandsworth.gov.uk
