Karenmary – Silver jewellery passionately crafted
Karenmary works from her Hampton studio, where her love of nature, her design skills and a magpie collection of tiny objects trouvees all combine in the production of sterling and fine silver pieces.
Some are 22ct gold plated and Karenmary also uses oxidation and vitreous enamelling, plus precious and semi-precious stones as elements in her designs. The basic techniques she uses for creating her range of delicate silver jewellery include forming, casting and tube setting gem stones.
Her designs have evolved from basic natural forms to include more contemporary interpretations and amongst the most popular items we offer from her range are classic enamelled silver ear studs in different colours and three different sizes.
Karenmary offers useful tips on caring for silver jewellery and recommends that it be kept in an airtight box or bag, which will slow down the effects of oxidation. Exposure to the environment can cause silver to tarnish over time. Do not store your jewellery in damp or humid conditions and always put on your jewellery last – after applying cosmetics, perfumes and sprays. Clean with a specialised polishing cloth or in warm soapy water.
