PlayNation
Featuring the work of 18 young artists from the Access to HE course at Richmond Upon Thames College, this final project show will explore how art galleries can be made exciting for children and families.
Through fine art, graphics, sculpture, architecture and more, this show will present the artistic research and ideas of the students through brand new pieces of work. Playful, imaginative and interactive, this will be an exciting opportunity to see the debut of a fresh cohort of West London artists before they begin to pursue their artistic careers.
Orleans House Gallery has been working with the students from the Access to HE Course at Richmond Upon Thames College since January 2021. Through a series of workshops, creative briefs and interviews, Orleans House Gallery staff and artists have supported the development of the students’ final project, PlayNation.
PlayNation explores how we can bring imagination and playful freedom into galleries. It has been inspired by the work of Unit Lab and their installation Mirror Shape Play. For more information visit Mirror Shape Play – Orleans House Gallery
