Oxy(Re)Generation
22 June – 25 July 2021
Featuring the work of 13 young artists from the Access to HE course at Richmond Upon Thames College, Oxy[re]Generation invites audiences to learn more about the climate crisis, biodiversity and how we can fix our broken relationship with nature.
Through fine art, graphics, sculpture and architecture, Oxy[re]generation will present the artistic and scientific research and ideas of the 13 students with brand new pieces of work. Playful, imaginative and future focused, this will be an exciting opportunity to see the debut of a fresh cohort of West London artists before they begin to pursue their artistic careers.
Orleans House Gallery been working with the students since January 2021 to support the development of this exhibition through a series of workshops, creative briefs and interviews as part of our 3 year Cultural Reforesting programme. Artists from the Remember the Future exhibition have worked directly with the students to develop creative approaches to the question ‘How can we renew our relationship with nature?’
The Access to HE course at Richmond Upon Thames College is ideal for those interested in a future career within the Creative Arts industries. The course is designed specifically to meet the needs of adult learners in preparation for progression to higher education. The course is practical and studio based, which will provide a thorough grounding in the fundamental principles of all art and design practice.
