Orleans House Gallery Christmas Shopping Weekend
Join us on Saturday 4 & Sunday 5 December for our hugely popular annual Christmas Shopping Weekend, where over 40 independent Makers, Designers, Artists and Artisans showcase their unique and exciting products.
With everything from jewellery and ceramics, to prints and homewares on offer, this year you will also find a delicious outdoor food market in our Stables Courtyard alongside live musical performances, family art activities and festive treats in the onsite Stables Café throughout the weekend.
We will be spotlighting our Artists and Makers, announcing timings of performances and revealing more exciting details on our social media channels throughout the next month, so follow us to keep up to date with all the event information.
The Christmas Shopping Weekend is free and there is no need to book, but please note there will be no onsite parking available.
Music Performances
Saturday 4 December
12.30pm: The Basement Door
Watch performances from a host of up and coming young musical talent from the local area, all part of The Basement Door network. Offering training, volunteering and a safe space for young people to perform and watch music The Basement Door is a gig venue for young people in Richmond.
Sunday 5 December
11.30am: Teddington Choral Society
Enjoy a performance of classic Christmas carols from local community choir Teddington Choral Society. Founded in 1951, Teddington Choral Society is a friendly community choir rehearsing on Monday evenings usually at St Catherine School in Twickenham. Their typical repertoire ranges Oratorios such as The Creation, Elijah and Handel’s Messiah; plus contemporary work, Chilcott, McDowall and Pärt and lighter music-Bernstein, British folk songs and Songs from shows.
2pm: Richmond Youth Jazz Band
The Richmond Youth Jazz Band is run by the Richmond Music Trust and is formed of students from around the borough of Richmond upon Thames. They rehearse weekly at Waldegrave School in Twickenham and perform at many events in and around the borough. Playing a wide range of popular jazz standards their performance will include jazzy versions of some Christmas favourites.
All of these performances take place outdoors in the Central Courtyard. Please be aware that in event of poor weather music performances may have to be postponed or cancelled at short notice.
