Due to the new tier 3 restrictions our galleries are now closed. Our Stables Café will remain open for takeaways so you can still enjoy a coffee during your daily exercise in our woods!

Art group Alice in Hackneyland celebrate the 300th anniversary of the Octagon Room with two large installations that play homage to the history of the gallery and the Baroque period in which it was built, as well as a selection of photographs, artworks and articles from the Borough Art Collection that help to bring its story to life. Visit the Ames room, and play with perspective and enjoy a pink masterpiece that draws reference to Queen Caroline’s 1729 visit to the Octagon Room.

Click the links below to find out more about the inspiration behind the work and the Baroque period of art.
