SUMMARY:Objects of Disquiet
DESCRIPTION:Kinetic beings made from coiled steel and inflatables will c
 reate a playful and sometimes unsettling effect as they dangle and wobbl
 e. Mandeep Dillon’s site-specific installation is a commentary on the 
 ephemeral nature of human and non-human existence.  \n\nUsing sculptur
 e and collage Mandeep’s practice draws on a personal malaise to explor
 e the fragility and vulnerability of human and non-human bodies. \n\nSh
 e completed an MA in sculpture at the Royal College of Art in 2019. Befo
 re graduating\, Mandeep was a creative director and a documentary film p
 roducer making programmes about conflict\, natural disasters and environ
 mental issues in Asia\, Africa and the Middle East. \n\nThis exhibition
  is the first in Orleans House Gallery’s 2022-2023 Emerging Artists Pr
 ogramme\, designed for early-career artists in the first 10 years of the
 ir development. \n\nPrivate View is on 30 September\, from 2pm to 4pm.
