Hushed Impressions Opening Celebration
Join artist Bianca Raffaella for a wintery afternoon tea at the opening of Hushed Impressions.
About the Artist
As a visually impaired artist, Bianca Raffaella works with essential lines and tactile marks to describe her subjects, whether these are abstracted figures or atmospheric landscapes. The colour pallets Raffaella chooses are comprised of subtle and faded shades, which are distinctive to her work. She paints exactly what she sees and with the colours which she recognises as the most noticeable in her chosen compositions. For example, reflections from moving shapes that are prominent in Raffaella’s work describe how her eyes respond and fixate to light. Using the strength of her peripheral sight, she can replicate her visual perception to the sighted world.
About the exhibition
Hushed Impressions is a multi-sensory exhibition with a focus on accessibility in the visual arts and highlighting female artists. Bianca has referenced the female artists who have inspired and influenced her work .
