Let’s Get Creative – March 2025

Join us for a creative session inspired by our Cultural Reforesting programme.
Join artist Andrew Merritt and have a play with some air-drying clay. This session encourages you to explore and experiment. What will you make?
Andrew is a featured artist in our upcoming Cultural Reforesting exhibition, families are invited to participate in the making of seed sculptures which will become part of Andrew’s installation.
Seed sculptures are made of compost, clay and seeds and shaped like familiar packaged food. The seeds will grow into edible or medicinal plants.
For the upcoming Cultural Reforesting exhibition, Andrew will be making a growing sculptural flower bed in the Orleans House Gallery grounds. These flowerbeds are prototypes for vast ecosystems, providing sustenance not only for humans but also for worms, insects, birds, the plants and more. We need lots of sculptures to help realise the work.
Let’s Get Creative is aimed at families with children aged 4-11 years, though all are welcome. Sessions are free and run regularly throughout the year. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
