Seed Sculpture Making Workshop

As part of the upcoming Cultural Reforesting exhibition, we are making seed sculptures! These will become part of an installation by artist Andrew Merritt. You are invited to come and join Dawn from Orleans House Gallery’s Programming team to make these sculptures and to be part of the Cultural Reforesting exhibition.
Seed sculptures are made of compost, clay and seeds and shaped like familiar packaged food. The seeds will grow into edible or medicinal plants.
For the upcoming Cultural Reforesting exhibition, Andrew will be making a growing sculptural flower bed in the Orleans House Gallery grounds. These flowerbeds are prototypes for vast ecosystems, providing sustenance not only for humans but also for worms, insects, birds, the plants and more. We need lots of sculptures to help realise the work.
